Background
Designed with the intention to elevate the dining experience. This is achieved by implementing bold colors and playful forms that help the user engage with the bowl in an unconventional way.
The use of ceramics seeks to create a warm feeling for the user, where they can create their own narrative through a playful tabletop setting and display their desire for handcrafted dinnerware.
Process
After initial ideation sketches, there was CAD exploration where the final form was chosen for printing and mold building.
The 3D print was used to create a plaster mold to be then used to slip cast the bowls.
Outcome
A series of bowls that are playing with form in order to improve the ergonomic interaction by using playful form and negative space.
Each bowl is unique yet, the plaster mold allows the creation of stackable, functional, and durable pieces that can be mass produced if necessary.
