Design Brief

Design a road running shoe for the future of marathon running. Incorporating innovative technology to help the athlete feel in control of their every stride.

GravityFly's revolutionary cushioning system utilizes precisely calibrated magnetic fields to create a contactless suspension system within the midsole. This breakthrough technology

Design Direction

This shoe is seeking to be lightweight yet super responsive solution for long distance road running. Through these design and CAM mood boards I am to convey the idea of speedy and lightweight design language.

Concept Exploration

Through iterative sketching, I explore the relationship between midsole proportions and void structures, optimizing for lightweight performance without compromising support. The exploration also investigates the application of magnetic wave patterns to shoe construction, exploring how this could enhance both the functional performance and visual identity of the upper and outsole.

Prototyping

The prototyping phase translates sketches into tangible models that help me understand the form and proportions. This initial prototype serves as a steppingstone to create a better more refined version of what Gravityfly could become.
